Paddleboarding at Lake Ngatu

We went to the lake to paddle board with Joe and Scottie . We also had to walk there it was tiring I was going to sleep but then we made it and sat down and ate some morning it was yum . Then we had group 1 going up and then group 2 and also group 3 we had a epic time there with Joe and Scottie . I was tired then we went to school and we got ready for the bus.

Te Whare Tui Camp 2019

WALT google slides to create an interesting presentation about my camp experience. 


My camp highlights were Slippy Hockey because I always slipped over but I got it in once. I loved kayaking cause it was so energetic because you had to use your arm to push it hard in the strong river. I thought I was battling a GIGANTIC sea monster when I was pushing my paddles. It was awesome but my favourite part was the water slide. I was really nervous and I didn’t want to go on the water slide but Jada went on it and I knew I would be okay.

Addition and Subtraction Math Strategy

WALT do splitting strategy and rounding in compensating .

So for splitting strategy is easy all you have to do is leave the first number and change the other number. Also I was practising on the class site and listening to the videos. Also I would teach it to anyone who wants to learn a good strategy. I learnt this new strategy long ago and its a pretty useful strategy. These are some of my math video and and each of them are different strategy. One of them are rounding and compensating also splitting strategy.

Today we went to the Film Festival we watch our film it was called Mums school by Te Manga but before we watched it we walked the red carpet it felt like I was a queen walking the aisle our film was so funny everybody laughed when I was being mean but then they found out that you should be nice and I also loved watching The Trespasser from Mangonui it was so funny that his dad was telling him to get out of this guys house.

Rugby World Cup - Namibia

Namibia has free roaming Cheetahs and black Rhino . Namibia nickname is (The land of the Brave). The capital is Windhoek which actually means Windy corner. Namibia speaks two languages German , English its population is 2.4919. Its day time temperature are hot and ( extremely hot in summer) and nights are cold some area frequently below freezing.These are some of the animals Cheetahs Loin and Zebras but the traditional one is Oryx.

She was addicted to gaming And lost her tower she was dreadful and furious and she needed to calm down. Duffy said hi Sam and Sam said eh and kept playing he got bored and wore his Nana Whetus glass's and done a crazy dance and things got a little bit wicked.  Also Sam said your not allowed to wear Nana's glass's and he got dissolved in to the game.

Rugby World Cup 2019

In Te Manga we have been learning about Rugby World Cup. My country is Namibia their main languages is German , English. The population in Namibia is 2.49 and the capital city is Wind Hoek .The symbols on the Namibia flag is the sun for the sun the blue for the sky and ocean the white on the outside of red is peace and the red is the people and green represents the grass and wealth also vegetation. Some local dishes in Namibia is Wild game,Bilton,Fat cakes and more names for traditional dishes. 

Also yesterday we had a amazing dress up in our country I was Namibia but I wanted to be All Black and we had a fun time and getting and class photo and a individual photo by our self.

The Great Reading Adventure Assembly

T3 Recount Practice - The Great Reading Adventure Assembly

Last Friday we had our marvellous assembly its title was The Great Reading Adventure . So we got our costumes on and we had an awesome time Arahia was Duffy and Kaydee was Scruffy we had Kiarn first as Scruffy but he didn’t know how to make his voice with more  expression. So soon or later we told Kaydee if she wanted to do it and she said yes so there was only friend one and friend three after we put the costumes on also Arahia had a red and blue T-shirt and a pink hat also a big D on her hat and T-shirt. Scruffy which was Kaydee had a baby blue colour for her T-shirt she also had a purple and blue hat and had a big capital S on her hat and T-shirt then they got in position and waited and the parents came in and then the audience came in approximately two hundred audience was there also Sir which makes it two hundred and one then they said there part one by one. Then it was Cat in the Hat and Hori had a Cat in the Hat costume but the hat wasn't that big but he still liked it as I said they done there bit one by one they put even more expression it was awesome and then it was Maui and the sun Teina was Maui and his brothers gathered around him. Also Atama was then sun and the legend was about slowing the sun down and they did. Then it was the it was Super Heroes they had a Hulk costume and Iron man all they said was hilarious jokes they were so funny but they came in with eye of the tiger song it was awesome. Soon it was the Non-fiction they had a funny song heaps of people were moving to the beat . It had Dinosaurs,Lion even space it was wicked Carrie had lots of expressions and it was fabulous. Then it was the Harry Potters I was one of the Harry Potters they came in with the Harry Potters song we walked down the aisle and waved our wands at the little Voldemort we each had a script we heard laughter and cheering and babies crying when it was my turn, I felt like my heart was pumping and I felt embarrassed and I thought that I was going to run away. Then it was the Duffy song we all sang along and I saw people doing the actions we had  a great time also I felt like I wasn't embarrassed anymore .

                                     Flood

 When river and streams gets higher and higher then it goes above the edge and it turns into a flood.Then it spreads around the place sometimes it can get muddy.Heaps of people have past away from floods and it can cause damage . Floods can take 2 hours or more to end or a day or two.       

            

New Zealand Play House

Tоday we watched a super entertaining show  was called the hare and the tortoise it was amazing we had to. Soon we got settled in and they introduced there name but I only herd Jess but then it was our time to say our names the Jess made us laugh by say all I heard was blah blah blah blah.They taught us to do this when ever we get loud they slide there hand under there other hand then they made us clap and then the show was on the road they introduced a funny name called Gorgie porgie. He introduced the race about hare or hea and the ginger bread man but you can call him the G man and that stands for ginger bread man. They had a race but before the race we had a thing to represents them so run run as fast as you can that represents  the G man and uma hea uma hea uma hea that represents the hare or hea again  and they started the race but gorgie porgie said before you go do any of you want a man kiss and then they ran away .

What we learnt he taught us how to do medium shots and extreme shots.

So the director say turn over and action .
The camera person says camera speed .
Also sound people say sound speed .
Also the clipper clapper say medium shot close up or extreme shot close up that what Establish shot is 

So the Extreme close up so you need a tripod so the tablet can get a good place so you don't have to move from a place and run with it and if you go on to settings you can put on grid but you only need it if you need a good shot . 

So the sound person needs a stick that you put a phone and it catch's all what it says . Also you can not run a movie with out a director or and sound person also camera and a clipper clapper and the important two is you always need a script and a actor .  I was the scard with the sound pole cause I thought I was going to drop it .

Introducing the Amazing Water Cycle Experiment.

WALT explain what happens when water evaporates. 

What was our hypothesis? That the one in the sun will evaporate more faster then the shade

Describe what we did? Alani had a milk container and it was 2L .

What happened? Alani tipped it on the concrete and we draw chalk around it .

Think about which puddles disappeared faster? The one in the sun cause you need the sun to power the water cycle.

What caused the water to disappear?  The sun evaporated cause it powers the water cycle.

Ka Pai Kai with Whaea Analiea

WALT cook healthy food with Whaea Analiea. She is teaching us all about healthy food.  

My group is Jai Zana Charlie and me and were going to make delicious pizza and our toppings are pepperoni, tomato paste, ham, pineapple and cheese. We are going to use a spoon and bowl, chopping board and knives. I'm looking forwards to be doing be cooking next week.

My Awesome Amazing Water Facts

We are learning all about water this term. We have already found out some amazing water facts!

Do you know what evaporation means. So water falls and then it goes in the stream and it falls in the ocean, then when it is heated by the sun it turns into gas which is evaporation.  

We use an average of 640 litres of water a day.

60% of house water is to flush toilets or take baths and shower.

The longest non stop swim was made by Susie Maroney from Australia in 1998 she swam from Mexico to Cuba.

The worst marine pollution was between 1953-1967.

Me and Jai had a quite good time figuring out how to do the video and we put it on the table and moved when we were finished our part.

Te Ahu Cinema Lion King - Draft Writing

When we went to Te Ahu cinema we watched the new Loin king it was funny exciting . So let me take you to the beginning. so Mufusa had a new born child called Simba. Rafiki put this kind of red paint on his head.Then he went to the pride the end of the pride rock and held him up and all the Elephant's and Giraffe's and Zebras came except his brother Scar.

Then he was a little bit  older then he went to his uncle Scar and he said I want to go somewhere he said go to the Elephants grave's it's where bones of Elephant's and bursting hot larva he went there but with Narla and one guide bird zazu he said lets go to the water hole and he did a nasty trick he was getting rid of zazu and then he lost him and he went to the Elephants grave's the huyens came and then they attack.

that was my favourite part Then he went to this place  and there were bulls coming Scar wanted to kill him so he can take pride rock and when Mufasa died they thought they killed Simba but they didn't. He felt so sad that he killed his dad. so he went away in the desert and he fell asleep and voulches were surrounding him and Pumba came to rescue but not to save an loin. then they said it's a loin run Pumba run what he cute and nice Timon say's he's a meat eater then he woke him up then took him to the jungle they sang there modo which was a Kuma ma ta ta and then he ad to learn to not be a meat eater and eat grubs after that he saw Nala and then they talked and talked then they were finished Nala said that the pride land is not pride anymore and he said no so he went back with Nala to save the Pridelands.

    

Wonderful Sentences

I have been learning how to copy and paste from our class writing flip charts to share our learning. I know how to insert bullet points and use the highlighting tool.

We know that wonderful sentences need:

• detail (elaboration)
• capital letters and full stops
• Punctuation (, ! ? “ “)
• quality vocab - WOW words

WALT recognise different parts of speech.

Nouns are naming words. eg. chair, book, July, Awhi

Adjectives describe nouns.
Eg. wooden chair, writing book, freezing July, lovely Awhi
Verbs are doing words.
Eg run, walk, jump, skip, chew
Adverbs describe verbs.

Eg. briskly running, slowly walking, jumping high, skipping happily and chewing noisily.

EXAMPLES

The blue black bird is frowning in a mean way.

Kuwharuwharu Tuna - Long Fin Eel

This term we have been learning all about the longfin eel. Our assembly item was based on the story of Velvet and Elvis. This was a story about the migration journey that the long fin eel takes.

I have created  3 different digital learning objects (DLO) to share our learning on this topic .

The first is a poster that I created in my topic book about the challenges to our long fin eel. Whaea Deb took a photo of my poster.

I created the longfin eel life cycle on google drawing and I shared some facts on a google doc.
